Vitamins

Vitamins are organic compounds that cannot be produced in sufficient quantities by the human organism itself. They must therefore be supplied to the body daily with food or via appropriate vitamin preparations.
Today, 13 vitamins are known, which are divided into two groups:
The fat-soluble vitamins include vitamins A, D, E and K. Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the body mainly in the liver and fatty tissue.
Water-soluble vitamins include the vitamins of the B group (vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, biotin, folic acid, niacin, pantothenic acid) and vitamin C. The water-soluble vitamins can usually only be stored in small quantities in our body. This means that any excess is excreted through the urine.
